Gesa Luecker was born in Brunswick, Germany, and began her piano studies at the age of seven; two years later giving her first concerts. Aged twelve she had already performed solo piano concertos with an orchestra and since then has been regularly invited to play with different well-known orchestras in Germany and Italy. Gesa Luecker has given solo recitals and played with many chamber music groups worldwide. Amongst these were several performances at important concert halls, including the Congressional Center and the NDR Radio Station Hall in Hannover, the University of Arkansas, the Yamaha Hall and the Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall) in New York City and the Wigmore Hall in London. She is laureate of the Bruno-Frey-Foundation and received prizes in several national and international competition like in the International Piano Competition "Silvio Bengalli" Val Tidone, Italy, Audience Prize and Jury Prize of the Chopin- Society in Hannover, Germany and first prize and Beethoven Award in the International Piano Competition Ibla Grand Prize. Gesa received her musical education from the renowned pedagogues Martin Dörrie and Matti Raekallio at the University for Music and Drama Hannover. Moreover she has worked with personalities like Arie Vardi, Fabio Bidini, Jerome Rose, David Wilde, Lazar Berman and Earl Wild. At the moment Gesa Luecker has a lectureship at the University for Music and Drama Hannover. Furthermore, she is regularly invited to give masterclasses in Germany and abroad as well as a jury member in national and international competitions in addition to her very active concert life. In 2009 her debut CD with pieces by Mozart and Prokofieff was released by the label GENUIN and received already high critical acclaim.
